Research Description

#Fulbrighter. I am a Ph.D. student in the Department of Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, focused on warm cloud and rain microphysics. My research aims to reduce uncertainties in rainfall estimation by using machine learning techniques to enhance size distribution retrievals from spaceborne and ground-based radars, leveraging data from in-situ cloud probes and disdrometer surface observations.

I have a strong interest in machine learning, high-performance computing, big data, and data analysis and visualization to address complex environmental science challenges. As an advocate for open data and open science, I promote the use of Analysis-Ready Cloud-Optimized (ARCO) formats for storing data in public cloud storage, enhancing data access and usability for the global research community. Additionally, I am deeply interested in contributing to open-source software development within the Python ecosystem.
