There are many opportunities for students in the Department of Climate, Meteorology, and Atmospheric Sciences to get involved! CliMAS hosts an annual conference named the Midwest Student Conference on Atmospheric Science (MSCAR) to showcase undergraduate and graduate research across schools in the Midwest. The inaugural conference was held in October 2017 with the help of a graduate, faculty, and undergraduate planning committee.

The Illinois Student Organization of Meteorology (ISTORM) is the undergraduate registered student organization (RSO) located on campus. The main goal of this organization is to bring together weather enthusiasts to participate in fun socials, outreach, education, and academic related events.

The Climate and Meteorological Association of Students (CliMAS) is the graduate registered student  organization (RSO) here at the U of I. Some events that the CliMAS graduate student organization hosts include monthly lunches, Secret Santa gift exchange, an easter egg hunt, picnics, and much more!

The University of Illinois has over 1,000 registered student organizations. From sports to politics, from mountain climbing to scuba diving, you will find a group that matches your interests. Learn more and find a group that's right for you now.
