Jaden Lau

I am a PhD student joining CliMAS in Fall 2026. I am investigating wildfire risk and its relationship with large scale climate drivers and teleconnections, being advised by Dr. Francina Dominguez and in collaboration with the U.S. Corps of Engineers Construction Engineering Research Laboratory. 

I was previously an undergraduate at Cornell University, studying both Atmospheric Sciences and Environment & Sustainability and minoring in Climate Change. I joined the Precipitation and Climate Research Group led by Dr. Angeline Pendergrass, completing multiple projects, culminating in an honors thesis investigating the role of land-atmosphere interactions in flash drought formation and evolution.
