Biography

I am an M.S. student in the Department of Climate, Meteorology, and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Originally from the Virginia suburbs of Washington, DC, I obtained a B.S. in Meteorology with a minor in Geographic Information Systems from the University of Oklahoma. Outside of the office, I enjoy walking and hiking, visiting national parks, exploring central Illinois and the lower Midwest, and watching my beloved Washington Capitals and Green Bay Packers.

Research Interests

I am interested in wildfire and severe weather risk communication and bridging the gap between operational meteorology and members of the public.

Research Description

At the ALERTAS Lab, I am examining how the public reacts to next-generation warning products, such as the NSSL Warn-on Forecast (WoFS) system. Through applied research, I am applying evidence-based recommendations to local, state, and federal partners.
