Biography

I am a first year PhD. student in the Department of Atmospheric Sciences working under the supervision of Dr. Zhuo Wang.

Research Interests

Arctic cyclones, subseasonal to seasonal prediction, temporal and spacial climate variability.

Research Description

Arctic cyclones play an important role in the changing Arctic climate. They transport heat and moisture poleward, and can break up and move sea ice, which causes further warming of the region through climate feedback processes. A better understanding of Arctic cyclones can improve synoptic-scale cyclone predictions and future climate projections. My current research involves exploring the structural differences between Arctic cyclones and mid-latitude extratropical cyclones, and trying to find the intensification mechanisms of Arctic cyclones.
