Students majoring in Atmospheric Sciences can earn distinction, high distinction, and highest distinction upon graduation. The requirements for these awards are:

• For Distinction: A minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.30, and two consecutive semesters of ATMS 492 (Capstone Research).
• For High Distinction: A minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50, and two consecutive semesters of ATMS 492 (Capstone Research).
• For Highest Distinction: A minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.70, and two consecutive semesters of ATMS 492 (Capstone Research).
